Site:

The soundwell site

Located off Morley road, this small site has 32 plots of friendly growers who enjoy a yearly summer BBQ.

The allotment starts to spring to life in May

Tucked away in Soundwell, between Staple Hill and Kingswood, this small site is very active.

We host a yearly BBQ, and even tried a seed swap picnic this year. This is a popular allotment site encouraging residents to exercise and eat healthily.

In the 2018 PSP plan (Policies, Sites and Places Plan: Local Green Space Designation Consultation) says that this site is historical, beautiful and tranquil with lots of wildlife, and we agree.

Allotment space is much needed in this area supporting the Council strategy for healthy living.

Facilities we have on the Soundwell site:

  • Waterbutts that fill from the mains and rainwater catchment.
  • Several cats to keep away the pests!

Please note: There are no toilets or parking on this site.

Our summer BBQ

Running for the past 3 years, the summer BBQ is a highlight of the year.\

Second only to those first season strawberries!

We love to get together and enjoy the fruits of our labour (and a cider or two!)

2022 Summer BBQ

Committed to sustainability

Our current project is creating a rain water harvesting system. Not only providing water to the top end of our plot but reducing the water bill and being more sustainable.
